Client Requirements

The client requested an enhancement in the Odoo ERP system to include a Certificate of Analysis (COA) section within the Lot/Serial Number module. This new section is essential for quality control, allowing users to track and print COA reports at different levels.

Challenges & Key Considerations

• New Tab Addition: A dedicated "Certificate of Analysis" tab must be added next to the Description tab in the Lot/Serial Number section.
• Dynamic Data Fetching: The fields in the COA section must be integrated with existing Print Label and Manufacturing Orders to ensure consistency.
• Printing Enhancements: Users should be able to generate and print the Certificate of Analysis from multiple levels:
  • Lot/Serial Number Level
  • Manufacturing Order Level
  • Product Level
• Automated Lot/Serial Number Selection: When printing the COA from the Lot/Serial Number section, the system should automatically select the corresponding Lot/Serial Number of the record.
• New Format Integration: The COA print report must be updated to reflect the new format provided by the client.

Solution Implemented

• 1. Addition of Certificate of Analysis Tab
  A new "Certificate of Analysis" tab was added to the Lot/Serial Number module. This section captures all relevant quality analysis fields required for the COA report.
• 2. Heavy Metal Analysis Section
  A new Heavy Metal Analysis section was introduced in both:
  • Product Specification Tab
  • Certificate of Analysis Tab

• 3. Modifications in Microbiological Analysis Section
  The Microbiological Analysis section was updated in the COA print report. The new format ensures accurate mapping between the Certificate of Analysis Tab and the Product Specification Tab.

• 4. Printing Enhancements
  A new "Print Certificate of Analysis" option was added at the Lot/Serial Number, Manufacturing Order, and Product levels.
  The selected Lot/Serial Number is automatically populated in the COA when printing from the Lot/Serial Number section.
  The new format provided by the client was successfully integrated into the COA print report.
